This week, our columnist Barbara Krief answers the question she is now asked three times a day: "Do I have the right to have my children read 'Harry Potter' if I want to remain a good ally of the LGBT cause?"
British author JK Rowling recently announced the creation of a private fund to support transphobic legal actions. While the writer's fortune is likely to increase with the release of a new HBO series adaptation of her hit Harry Potter series, the young parents around me are all asking the same question:
“ Do I have the right to have my children read “Harry Potter” if I want to remain a good ally of the LGBT cause? ”
Answer, in two parts.
